Frequently Asked Questions
About GABRIELLE ISABEL
What is GABRIELLE ISABEL?
GABRIELLE ISABEL is a Catholic home and apparel brand based in Dallas, Texas. We sell devotional home goods, including hand cast brass pieces and hand painted religious art, alongside modest women's clothing. The brand was founded by Gabrielle and Pietro Damasceno in 2022 and is still run by the two of us out of our home.
Is GABRIELLE ISABEL a Catholic company?
Yes. We are a practicing Catholic family, and the brand exists to bring the beauty of the Church into everyday homes. Our pieces reflect Catholic devotion directly: the Sacred Heart, the Immaculate Heart, the Holy Spirit, the Crucifix, and the saints.
Where is GABRIELLE ISABEL located?
We are based in Dallas, Texas. We do not have a physical storefront. Every order is picked, packed, and shipped by hand from our home.
Who is Gabrielle Damasceno?
Gabrielle Damasceno is the co-founder and designer of GABRIELLE ISABEL. She designs the Signature Collection, sources the home pieces, and shares the brand's daily life on Instagram at @gabrielle.i.damasceno.
Our home goods
Where are your brass pieces made?
Our brass pieces are hand cast and finished in a city in India known for brass work for generations. Each piece is antiqued by hand, so patina, texture, and small surface marks vary from one to the next.
Where do your hand painted pieces come from?
Our hand painted religious art is made by artisans in Cuzco, Peru, in the tradition of the Cuzco school of painting, which dates to the 1500s. Many pieces include gold leaf brocateado detailing and are one of a kind, meaning once a piece sells we cannot reorder it.
How do I care for antique brass?
Wipe antique brass with a soft dry cloth. Do not use commercial brass polish or any abrasive cleaner, because the antique finish is applied on purpose and polishing will strip it. If a piece is hung in a humid room, expect the patina to deepen over time. That is normal.
What is a prayer corner?
A prayer corner is a small dedicated space in your home for daily prayer. It is usually a shelf, a nightstand, a windowsill, or a corner of a bedroom, and it typically holds a crucifix or icon, a candle, and something to sit or kneel on. A prayer corner does not need to be large. It needs to be somewhere you will actually return to. Shop the Prayer Corner Bundle
What should every Catholic home have?
Most Catholic homes start with a crucifix in a main room, an image of Our Lady or the Sacred Heart, holy water at the entry, and a small prayer space. Beyond that it is personal. A home built around devotion tends to grow one piece at a time rather than all at once.
Do you take custom orders?
Absolutely we do, and we can make just about anything you can dream up. To inquire, email us at info@gabrielleisabel.com. We read every response to that inbox.
Apparel and sizing
What does modest clothing mean?
Modest clothing generally covers the shoulders, chest, and knees, though the specifics vary by person and setting. We think of modesty as a disposition rather than a checklist. Our pieces are designed to be feminine and current, not shapeless, on the belief that modest and beautiful are not a trade off.
How do your dresses fit?
Most of our dresses fit true to size. Each product page lists specific fit notes and a full size chart.
Are your dresses maternity friendly?
Yes, several are. Our maternity friendly pieces are grouped in one collection and are cut to work through pregnancy and after. Customers who bought them while expecting often keep wearing them for years. Shop maternity friendly pieces
What fabrics do you use?
Our Signature Collection is made from 100% Peruvian pima cotton, a long staple cotton known for softness and durability. Other pieces vary by style, and the exact composition is listed on each product page, but we always try to prioritize 100% cotton.
Do you carry plus sizes?
Yes, many of our apparel products are offered in plus sizes. Check the size options on individual product pages to see if a dress is offered in a plus size.
Shipping
How long does shipping take?
Orders ship from Dallas, Texas within 1-2 business days (unless specified in the product description). US delivery typically takes 3 business days after that (4 if we're shipping to the northeast or pacific northwest). You will get a tracking number by email as soon as the label is made.
Do you offer free shipping?
Yes. Shipping is free on US orders over $88.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, we ship worldwide. International customers are responsible for any customs duties or import taxes charged by their country. A meaningful part of our customer base is in Spain, Mexico, Peru, and Brazil.
How is my order packaged?
Every order is packed by hand in our home. Fragile pieces such as brass and framed paintings are wrapped individually. If you are sending an order as a gift, mention it in the order notes and we will leave the packing slip out.
Returns and exchanges
What is your return policy?
Can I exchange for a different size?
If you need to exchange your size and you reach out within your return window, we'll happily exchange the item for another size. Keep in mind we will need to inspect the returned product so it's still intact.
My piece arrived damaged. What do I do?
Email info@gabrielleisabel.com with your order number and a photo within 7 days of delivery and we will make it right. Brass pieces are antiqued by hand and will show variation in patina and texture, which is not damage, but anything cracked, bent, or broken in transit we replace.
Gifts
What is a good Catholic gift for a Confirmation?
A crucifix, a framed image of the confirmand's patron saint, or a devotional piece for their room all work well for Confirmation. Our brass pieces and hand painted art are common choices because they last and do not read as childish.
What is a good First Communion gift?
A crucifix, a small devotional tray for a bedside table, or an image of the Blessed Sacrament are all appropriate First Communion gifts. Something meant to be kept and hung, rather than consumed, is the general rule.
Do you have gift cards?
Absolutely, we offer gift cards for various amounts. Check out the gift cards here.
